Weather and Snow Conditions

Ski Sapphire Valley will open during the published
[Hours of Operations] Weather and Conditions Permitting.

Weather: Heavy rain, high winds, lightning and other weather issues may close the slopes.

Conditions: If we have lost too much snow as a result of weather the slopes may close. We're just like any other ski area.

Always call 828-743-7663 prior to making your arrangements to confirm our last minute status.

Flying of drones or any type of unmanned aircraft is strictly prohibited at Ski Sapphire Valley. Risk of personal injury to our guests, employees and equipment is too high and this rule is vigorously enforced!

Advanced reservations are available for groups of 10 or more. Otherwise, ticket sales  and equipment rentals are on a first come first served basis.

Have your Amenity Card with you (if you have one)

Ski Sapphire has a full Rental Shop - boots, poles, skis, boards, helmets - everything you need! We do not rent goggles, we do have them for sale

Frozen Falls Tube Park: Infants are not permitted, however, children as young as 2 may ride in their own tube while the parents rides beside them and holds the child's tube.

You must have a lift ticket and equipment in hand before proceeding to the Ski School.

We cannot make advanced reservations.

Ski School lesson times are: 10AM – 11:15AM – 12:30PM – 1:45PM – 3PM – 4:15 PM – 5:30PM – 7:15PM
(Times above are for full day operations. Lessons start one hour after we open and the every 1hour 15minutes thereafter.

Please have all your equipment BEFORE you come to school!

Ages: Group Lessons are available for 5 years and up - - kids age 4 only taught in a PRIVATE ONE ON ONE lesson and subject to instructor availability. (Kids must be at least 4 for the Ski School.)​ 

There are two and three day passes available for skiing. Tubing tickets must be purchased on the day of tubing.

Most Sapphire Valley properties are part of the Sapphire Valley Master Association and pay an annual fee to support the amenities and common areas at the Resort. Almost all our Sapphire Valley VRBO listings in Sapphire Valley Resort are in good standing with the Master Association and have access to the Amenities and the Amenity Rate where applicable. If you are looking at a rental and it does not state amenities included, simply use the VRBO “AKS THE OWNER A QUESTION” option.

’Military veterans, whether active duty or retired, receive the Amenity Rate. A valid government ID showing military services is required.

Ski Sapphire Valley no longer rents snow bibs. However, Ski Sapphire Valley is now selling bibs for adults and children. Inventory can vary.
